We all would appreciate more effective, productive meetings that lead to happier, more productive teams. Especially in a world where "Zoom fatigue" is a legitimate concern, managing how often and why meetings are booked is critical.
These days, people are meeting online for everything from work, to happy hours with friends, to therapy sessions or even working out. A Wundamail Work from Home 2020 Report found that 42% of remote workers found the continuous stream of virtual distractions on various apps "deeply distracting" and felt most productive when working for a long period of uninterrupted time. The overwhelm of unnecessary and poorly planned meetings can drain your team and breed cynicism.

Recently, I had the pleasure of being interviewed on the topic of how collaboration between technology companies and larger, more established healthcare provider companies (e.g. hospital system, ambulatory surgery company, etc.) propels product innovation.
During this conversation, two prevailing thoughts kept occurring. First, Stratasan has been extremely fortunate with a partner base of clients who have approached the collaboration process with an open mind and generosity to share their expertise and experiences. Second, our core value of “Our Success Is My Success” extends further outside of our walls than I believe we intended when we first adopted it.

“We’ll figure it out.”
This is a phrase that has oft been uttered in the conference rooms and offices at Strasasan. Healthcare as an industry may have an image of being old and staid, but as we have discovered, there are new opportunities every day for creative solutions to shine. We have relied heavily on our team’s creativity and innovation (well described in another blog post by Morgan Atkins) to develop new tools and products to serve our customers.
Hence, in the last quarter of 2017, we recognized that this phrase is an important part of our company culture, making it one of our core values.

Practical Tips for Maintaining a Growth Mindset in your Organization
By Morgan Atkins
Stratasan understands how paramount change is to progress. We strive to be trailblazers in the healthcare space, developing innovative tools and services that address our clients' growth goals. The best way we can effectively lead our clients and provide value is by innovative thinking that challenges the status quo. Our goal is to empower our customers with the strategies that will equip them to more effectively face a challenging and ever-evolving healthcare industry.
At the heart of innovation is the ability to reframe your perspective. Henry Ford once said "If I had asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." Often, the question itself limits what you think the possibilities are. If you have an open mind about the possibilities, you maximize your chances of building effective and unexpected solutions.

As I write this blog post, I am in the middle of a 36-hour (mostly) silent retreat detached from electronics. As someone who straddles the line between extrovert and introvert, opportunities like this are a welcome backdrop to my normal day-to-day.
This retreat has given me time to reflect on many things, including Stratasan’s six-year anniversary which we celebrated on May 18th (photos from the party shown below). As I consider all that has happened over the last six years, my thoughts continually circle back to our culture and how it has developed over time. From the outside, my co-Founder, Brian Dailey, and I are seemingly very different people. But, at our core, we value very similar things: a healthy intertwining of work and personal life; being present for the moment and the task at hand; helping and watching others grow even beyond where they thought they could; and finishing a job sometimes merely because we gave our word that we would.

One of my favorite things about working at Stratasan is that we are frequently applying company philosophies to create tangible software products or services. The core philosophy that has motivated us since the inception of Stratasan is the desire to help our client partners move up the DIKW pyramid. Last week, we released Launch Pathway in an effort to continue assisting our client partners as they move up the DIKW pyramid in their strategic growth efforts. The ties between this core philosophy and our newest software are extremely exciting for our entire team!
