Learning SQL and a Smattering of Python

I want to let you in on a little secret: our product, strategic resources group (SRG), and data services team members are the real healthcare experts here at Stratasan.

Our team of developers are pros at what they do: running data warehouses and computing infrastructure that our applications use to store and analyze complex healthcare datasets. But we rely heavily on the expertise of our team members to prioritize what needs to be developed within our applications.

Based on their direction, we learn what our customers are asking for and then determine what new features and products to build. Working hand in hand, our teams create useful tools that can derive insightful meaning from healthcare data.

Recognizing the need to close the gap between our development know-how and their healthcare insight, we’ve taken steps to improve the flow of communication between our teams and proactively facilitate interdepartmental collaboration. Our goal is to decrease the time it takes to get a product to market so we can more efficiently address the needs and goals of our partners.

Founder's Perspective: Innovation through Collaboration with Client Partners

By Jason Moore, with original post from XMI

Recently, I had the pleasure of being interviewed on the topic of how collaboration between technology companies and larger, more established healthcare provider companies (e.g. hospital system, ambulatory surgery company, etc.) propels product innovation.

During this conversation, two prevailing thoughts kept occurring. First, Stratasan has been extremely fortunate with a partner base of clients who have approached the collaboration process with an open mind and generosity to share their expertise and experiences. Second, our core value of “Our Success Is My Success” extends further outside of our walls than I believe we intended when we first adopted it.

Storyboards: Drawing Inspiration from Pinterest

When our product team originally conceived Launch Pathway, the benefits stemming from the feature now known as Storyboards was at the forefront. As we have learned in our 6 years at Stratasan, often times product design is improved when starting with the end in mind. Our basic goals for Storyboards were to be able to save snapshots of data and visualizations, edit your story or presentation, and have each storyboard presentation automatically refresh with each new data release.

More specifically, the main model of Storyboards is an ordered collections of snapshots, each of which can exist in multiple storyboards at a time (referred to as a many-to-many relationship). As we worked through a variety of design and functionality ideas, we came to the point where we knew if the end user could not save a snapshot quickly and efficiently all other functions would be moot. A breakthrough occurred when our Product Captain, Morgan Atkins, suggested Pinterest as a place for inspiration for this functionality.
